Our Story
Amy's Promise: A Seed That Grew Into a Movement
Imagine a world where help actually reaches those who need it most, a world without bureaucracy or inequality. That's the world Amy aspired to create. As a child in Senegal, she saw how humanitarian aid often failed. Donations disappeared into thin air while people in need continued to wait. Determined to make a difference, Amy made a promise to herself: she would ensure that aid actually reached those who needed it.
Fueled by her determination to end injustice, Amy is pioneering a movement for a more equitable world for vulnerable women. Her studies in International Business and Management gave her the tools to understand the world, but it was her personal experiences and her in-depth knowledge of the local context that truly set her apart. She saw how international projects often failed because they did not meet the real needs of the people.
With Casimir, an experienced project manager specializing in community development, they founded the Sigil foundation. With many years of experience in community development and social policy, Casimir has also established a vast network of local partners.
Together, Amy and Casimir form a dynamic team. Their approach stands out by working hand-in-hand with communities to identify challenges and design sustainable solutions, rather than imposing top-down aid.
Our mission is clear: we aspire to create a just and equitable society where every woman becomes an active agent of her own development.
Imagine a woman who, once dependent, becomes independent, able to send her children to school, provide a roof over their heads, and ensure a better future for them.
